Empowering Climate Resilience: Dryads Project Unveiled at HEARTH Summit 2024

🌍 Exciting news in #ClimateResilience and #CitizenParticipation!

At the recent HEARTH Summit in Athens (https://lnkd.in/dJsxqAGD), Professor Nancy Alonistioti, Head of the SCANlab Research Laboratory (https://scan.di.uoa.gr/), shared insights on the groundbreaking Dryads Project during the “Data/AI for Climate Resilience and Citizen Participation” session.

Supported by ICLEI Europe and Google.org, the Dryads Project focuses on leveraging cutting-edge technologies for early wildfire detection and mitigation. By combining advanced data and AI solutions, the project aims to enhance forest resilience and proactively address wildfire risks. This innovative approach empowers communities and municipalities with tools to respond faster and more effectively to wildfire threats, helping to protect our forests and promote sustainable resilience.

A huge thank you to the Impact Hub Athens team for this opportunity, to the National Technical University of Athens , Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH), and to Mayor Γρηγόρης Κωνσταντέλλος for co-curating this critical session, and to the moderator Dimitris Elafropoulos for an inspiring discussion on transforming climate data into impactful, real-world solutions.
